The Center for the Treatment of Obesity

"Assia Bariatric", the Medical Center for Obesity Treatment was established in 2005 to provide personal and professional care for patients with obesity. As a multidisciplinary hub, it was among the first such centers in the world, combining world-class experts from the fields of surgery, nutrition and mental health, all aiming to escort and guide patients through their journey towards better health and improved quality of life. The multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of obesity at 'Assia Bariatric' utilizes a patient-centered tailored approach, building a supportive circle for each and every patient.

  • All range of surgeries: Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-Y Gastric bypass, One-Anastomosis ("Mini") Gastric Bypass, Biliopancreatic diversion and Single Anastomosis Duodenoilial bypas (SADI-S). The matching of a specific procedure to each patient is done by the surgeon, the clinic staff and the patient him/herself.
  • Non-surgical solutions for obesity: Intragastric balloon and endoscopic gastric sleeve. The latter being an innovative, unique solution in the field of obesity for patients who do not meet the criteria for surgery, but whose condition requires weight loss and lifestyle change. This solution is also effective as a bridging solution to enable surgery in selected cases, as well as a tool for achieving correct dietary habits.
  • Ongoing escort and support through a medical dietitian,  psychosocial, physiological professional team that accompanies the patient prior, during and after the surgery/treatment. Our unique service includes personal nutrition advice prior to surgery, during hospitalization and throughout post-surgical follow-up.
  • Plastic surgeries to shape the body after weight loss, which are often necessary for the completion of the treatment, and the optimal improvement of life quality following the weight loss.
