Prof. Noam Smorgick is the director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the Shamir (Asaf Harofe) medical center. She is an Associate Professor at the Tel Aviv University Medical School.
Prof. Smorgick graduated from the Hadassah Hebrew University School of medicine and competed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Shamir medical center. She then completed advanced training (fellowship) in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery at Michigan University, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Prof. Smorgick specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopic surgery ("key hole" surgeries). These procedures are performed for treatment of:
Uterine fibroid
Ovarian cysts
Hydrosalpings
Endometriosis
Endometrial polyps
Uterine septum
Intrauterine adhesions
Retained problems of conception
Menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding)
Prof. Smorgick also counsels regarding medical treatment for menstrual problems such as irregular periods, heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods (dysmenorrhea), endometriosis and contraception.
