Dr. Michael Koretz

Dr. Michael Koretz, born in Boston, USA, completed his medical education at the Boston University School of Medicine. He subsequently trained in general surgery and surgical oncology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. From 1986-1992 Dr. Koretz worked as a senior surgical oncologist at the Emory University Cancer Center in Atlanta, Georgia.<br><br>Dr. Koretz made Aliyah with his family in 1992 and moved to Beer-sheva, where he established and directed the first freestanding multidisciplinary Breast Health Center in the Middle East; where he developed and introduced pioneering techniques in breast cancer surgery.

Dr Koretz joined the Assia Medical Group in Tel Aviv as a Breast Surgeon over ten years ago, and moved to Jerusalem in 2018 to join the Hadassah Breast Cancer group in Ein Kerem.

Dr. Koretz is an active member of a number of professional societies, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons, as well as the Society of Surgical Oncology in the U.S and in Israel. He has authored dozens of articles in the professional literature and received multiple grants from foundations including the Jewish Federation in New York for a total of $1 million since 2000 in education and support for breast cancer patients.
